A Holistic Home contributes to better health and well-being. Following the Holistic Home Approach leads there. After evaluating the individual Aspects of the Holistic Home we undertake targeted improvements to accomplish the desired results.
How do we achieve the desired results?
More Calmness and Serenity can be achieved by: • providing views of nature; • using natural materials, such as wood and stone; • amplifying sounds of nature, such as birds’ songs and running water.
Improved Vitality and Satisfaction can be achieved by: • ensuring there is natural ventilation for fresh air; • a layout of the spaces allowing for free movement; • designating room in the home for our favorite activities.
Greater Relaxation and Comfort can be achieved by: • creating cozy areas for relaxation, meditation and reflection; • using cool calming colors in those relaxation areas; • choosing furniture, artwork, objects we love to look at and use.
Higher Productivity and Efficiency can be achieved by: • minimizing sound pollution of street noise, mechanical noise and speech; • providing a comfortable indoor temperature for active tasks; • reducing the patterns, textures and excessive items in the areas used for concentration and focused work.
Increased Motivation and Creativity can be achieved by: • planning for spaces that foster creative expression, such as an arts and crafts space, an area for writing or dance; • supporting spiritual growth with a meditation space, alter or a prayer room; • opening the home for uniqueness, customization and innovation.
Enhanced Sleep and Tranquility can be achieved by: • locating sleeping areas to be ideally facing east; • providing sufficient daylight and reducing the light pollution at night; • ensuring fresh, clean air is present in the home by airing out, removing carpets and using natural fabrics.
Improved Sense of Community can be achieved by: • considering activities in the home that help nurture a community, such as cooking, creativity, conversation; • providing outdoor or other semi-private spaces, such as a garden, balcony; sunroom for gathering of family, friends and greater community; • including spaces for collective play – swing or a hammock, gym, pool.
Overall Better Health can be achieved by: • supporting the body through sufficient light, soothing sound, fresh air, thermal comfort and clean water in the home; • stimulating or calming the mind through views of nature, natural materials, nourishment and fitting colors in the home; • nurturing the soul through uniquely tailored activities, community, spirituality and creative expression in the home.
